Samsung Series 5 UE22H500 Vs DigiHome 2273DVD.

0

Samsung has always been great when it comes to creating products with great, clean and High Definition display screen, the Samsung Series 5 UE22H500 is no exception.

DigiHome is also a great company when it comes to Home Appliances, especially televisions.
So, which one is better??? Samsung UE22H500 or DigiHome 2273DVD??? Let's have a quick look at their specs and juxtapose the features included in both TVs.

Both TVs have a 22-inch screen each with 1920x1080 resolution, that make them equal in terms of size, they are both led-screened but none of them is a smart TV.
Both of them consumes the same amount of power annually (32kwh) based on average use, none of them is wireless an none of them is curved. They both have one scarlet socket each but none of them is a 3Dtv.
Also, they both come with RGB PC input and remote controls, and while they both have USB2.0 ports, the amount isn't the same.
Those are the things they have in common, their differences are highlighted below:

HZ:

Samsung UE22H5000: 100HZ(reduce blurs and judder from fast moving images)
DigiHome 2273DVD: -

Sound System:

Samsung UE22H5000: DTS studio sound
DigiHome 2273DVD: 5w speakers

Component and Composite Video Connection:

Samsung UE22H5000: Yes
DigiHome 2273DVD: -

HDMI Connection:

Samsung UE22H5000: 2
DigiHome 2273DVD: 1

Head-Phone Socket:

Samsung UE22H5000: Yes
DigiHome 2273DVD: -

Wall Mountable:

Samsung UE22H5000: Yes
DigiHome 2273DVD: No

Freeview/Freeview HD:

Samsung UE22H5000: Freeview HD
DigiHome 2273DVD: Freeview

Available Languages:

Samsung UE22H5000: English, Spanish, French
DigiHome 2273DVD: No Info

Built-in DVD or Blu-ray:

Samsung UE22H5000: -
DigiHome 2273DVD: Built-in DVD Player.

That's all about both TVs, with all the above similarities and differences, i think you are able to make a decision on which one to go for.
I'd actually go for the Samsung UE22H5000, rather than go for the DigiHome 2273DVD.
Asides the fact that the 2273DVD costs £20 more than the UE22H5000, display and sound quality are my top priorities while buying a TV. And also, the DigiHome isn't wall-mountable, assuming i wanted to use it in the dinning room or the kitchen, would i go get a TV stand??? That really can't work out. But i must confess, i love the built-in DVD Player installed in the DigiHome 2273DVD.

Conclusion

Both TVs are great, but i'll choose to place the Samsung UE2H5000 over the DigiHome 2283DVD as it has some indispensable features.

Let's Look At The Lenovo Yoga 700; What Have We Got???

0

A 2-in-1 device is actually the best option you have if you need a tab and a laptop but can't afford to purchase both devices separately, or carrying a laptop and a tab in your bag at the same time isn't something you can do - that's unrealitic anyways.

The Good

*. Strong Performance
*. Latest CPU(intel 6th generation)
*. Rotating Hinge
*. Light weight.

The Bad

*. Disappointing Battery life
*. Some quirks in the keyboard.

Specifications

Dimensions: 13.18 x 9.03 x 0.72-inches
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-Bit
Processor: 2.5GHz
RAM: 8GB DDR3 SDRAM
Internal Memory: 256GB
Size: 14-inch
Weight: 3.5pounds
Graphics Adaptor: NVIDIA GeForce GT940M, 2GB vRAM
While the Yoga 700 is great too, its sibling, the Yoga 900 Remains the best device in the Yoga Series - although, the Yoga 700 is less expensive and still doesn't compromise much on performance.
The exterior design isn't the best we've seen actually, but this 14-laptop has manage to make itself a name in the Covertibles Category, thanks to some exclusive features and impressive performance.
Like i said, the Yoga 700 didn't come with the best design, but that doesn't you will frown on sighting the laptop, but you might overlook it while shopping for a laptop, and the design made it known that it's a mid-range laptop.

The whole body of the laptop - from the lid to the chassis is almost pure with matte black. This was only broken up by the silver lenovo badge on the lid, the two metal hinges connecting the lid and the base, the windows logo below the display and a strip of chrome around the touchpad. Everything else is black (aside the keyboard texts though).
The physical controls and buttons (Power, one-touch recovery, rotation lock and volume controls) are all located on the right edge - except the windows logo below the display that doubles as a capacitive touch home button.
The Yoga 700's plastic body helped it save some weight, it weighs about 3.5pounds, compare this laptop to the Acer Aspire R14 or the Toshiba Satellite Radius 4 - these are similar 14" convertible laptops.

Both the keyboard and the touchpads are great, but you can't really use the arrow keys on the keyboard without looking at them, the keyboard supports undersized arrow keys.
The travel distance is also too short and it's almost as if it has no spring atall.
But while the keyboard has a few downsides to it, the responive touchpad is perfect, clicking and selection is accurate and gestures such as two-finger scrolling and pinch-to-zoom worked well.
The laptop features two USB v3.0 ports, one USB v2.0 port (doubles as the powerjack tooo), a micro-HDMI, an SdCard Reader and a headphone/mic combo jack as it's Comm options.
The Yoga 700 was armed with two stereo speakers that give out audio on either side at the base. An even though the speakers had Dolby DS 1.0 certification, i'm not that impressed with their perormance.
Playing casual or 2D games on this laptop is a task the NVIDIA GeForce GT940M can handle without any problem.
The battery life is also a bit disappointing as it barely lasted 7hours based on average use - web surfing actually, but there were breaks and relaxation moments anyways.
Finally, the laptop features a 1-mp webcam, and it doesn't stand out from among the crowd of 'below-average' cameras. But it is still great for making video calls.
The Yoga 700 comes with 3 variants, the cheapest featured an Intel Core CPU, 4GB of RAM and 128GB SSD, it goes for (USD)$549.
The Next on the line is the Core i5 model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB SSD, it goes for (USD)$769.
The most expensive variant goes for $1,099, it featured an Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD and NVIDIA GeForce GT940M graphics card with 2GB of vRAM.

Conclusion:

The Lenovo Yoga 700 is a great mid-range convertible laptop. The performance, display, build quality and design are all good but not really doing Anything that can make it stand out fom among the competition.
While the Yoga 700's 7hours battery is a bit short of what we expect in this category, it's probably okay for most people.
The base model which goes for $549 is enticing due to its low cost, and while the mid model, which goes for $769 gives you some more features for some more dollars, i prefer the HP Spectre X360 for its long-lasting battery life (9hrs+), comparable performance, design and the build quality although it costs $900 and it's heavier (Buy It Now or Read The Review).
The peak model which goes for $1,099 is the best of them, but i would rather go for the Yoga 900 which costs $1,199, but it's slimmer and eye-catching.
If your budget is between $700 - $900, and a mid-range laptop is good for you, the mid model is one of the best options you've got.

Dell Inspiron 15 5000 (5558) Review (Full Breakdown)

0

Really, this isn't even close to the best laptop we've seen, but it does the job.

Specifications

Processor: Dual-Core 2.2GHz Intel Core i5-5200u
RAM: 8GB
Size: 380x260x24mm
Weight: 2.3kg
Screen Size: 15.6"
Screen Resolution: 1,920x1080
Graphics Adaptor: Nvidia GeForce 920M
Total Storage: 1TB HD

The 2014 Inspiron 5000 won a best buy award, thanks to its bargain price, great performance and decent battery life, so i decided to have a look at what this model has in store for us.
There is a big change in the look of this model when compared to that of the 2014 model, the chassis has been completely redesigned and it comes with a different screen. Among all the several Inspiron 15 5000-series model available; this has assumed the post as the second-most powerful model, with an Intel Core-i5 processor and dedicated graphics. A Core-i7 powered version with dedicated graphics tops the list. There are two less-powerful models, with Core-i5 and Core-i3 variants, both without dedicated graphics.
The 1,366x768 screen used on the 2014 model has been replaced with 1,920x1,080 screen resolution. Image quality is acceptable and i love how objects are rendered on it, it's not as chunked up as the 2014 model was.
This laptop feels more fragile than the 2014 model, and it is also thicker than the 2014 model at 22mm with the lid closed - this made room for the DVD drive which wasn't present in the 2014 model.
The laptop is a bit heavy at over 2.3kg. It's not light, so you might want to look elsewhere if you tote your laptop around Everyday.
The lid was built with a textured silver plastic, while the rest of the chassis was built with silver plastic - i think that's why it feels more fragile and also lighter, as the 2014 model was built with a metal coating.
Windows 10 feels silky smooth on this laptop, thanks to a combination of the Dual-Core Intel Core i5-5200u processor and the responsive touchpad. The battery life is a downside to the laptop as it doesn't last up to 3½hrs on a single charge under a moderate use. To get the most out of it, you will need to tweak your power saving settings to the highest power saving settings ever.
The laptop's Nvidia GeForce 920M graphics chip provides 4GB of dedicated memory, and that's a fair amount, it can still handle 3D games and lower level games, but more demanding games will require a significant tinkering with graphics settings.
There are two USB2 ports on the lefthand of the laptop, there is also an SD card reader that accepts SD, SDAC, and SDXC cards, and a 3.5mm headset jack on the righthand side.
The built-in speakers are good, considering the fact that it's a mid-range laptop, it handles dialogue and music inba well-balanced manner. We have mentioned earlier that it has a DVD drive, and it is located on the right side of the base, right behind the two USB2 ports.

The Good

It's mid-range laptop with a beautiful design.
It comes with a Core i5-5200u processor and runs windows 10 along with a responsive touchpad, a DVD drive and 3 USB ports.

The Bad

The laptop is fragile as it is made of plastic, it is too thick and a bit heavy, you can't just tote it around, it will wear you out. The battery isn't up to standard as a full charge won't last 4hrs, so you will have to take your charger with you everywhere you go with your laptop - and that's an extra weight.

Conclusion

This laptop is good particularly for home or office use, as carrying it around won't be easy, a notebook is the best for a laptop to be carried around.
It is a great laptop, it handles all your basic and day-to-day tasks perfectly, and you can stil enjoy some games with it.
Although if you want more - as in less weight, more performance - you can go for the HP (notebook model) or the Samsung (notebook model).

ASUS ZenPad 10 2300C Review

0

The mobile trend in town nowadays are Tablets and Large-screened phones, and developers are launching more and more of these every month.
Examples are the Samsung Galaxy Tab E9.6 and Galaxy Tab A9.7, Lenovo A10-70 A7600 and Apple iPad Air.
Asus also made themselves noticeable in the Tablet market by launching some adorable tablets, among which is the Zenpad 10 2300C.

Specifictions

Dimensions: 251.6x172x7.9mm (9.91x6.77x0.31in).
Resolution: 800x1280 pixel.
OS: Andoid v5.0(lollipop)
Processor: Quad-Core Intel Atom x3-c3200.
RAM: 2GB.
Internal Memory: 32GB.
SDCard Slot: Up to 64GB.
Size: 10.1-inches.

The Zenpad has a 10.1" screen display with an 800x1289 pixel resolution with a density of 149ppi (points-per-inch) display. When compared to devices of even smaller screen resolution with higher ppi density display like the Tecno Y6 or even the Asus x553MA, the ZenPad's display is rather poor.
But on the other hand, colours are bright, contrast is good and the Gorilla glass screen protection prevents the screen from breaking easily.
Another thing is the SoC running on the ZenPad, the C3200, A WiFi-only version of the C3230RK, it's one of Intel's new silvermount x3 'SoFIA" (Smart or Feature phone with Intel Architecture) Atom component. It consist of a Quad-Core 1.1GHz processor, Mali T450 GPU and 2GB of RAM.

Speakers are installed in the dock, that's the external keyboard that comes with the ZenPad 10 2300C, just slot the tablet into the hinged, magnetic channel, communication will take place by Bluetooth. This is a bit of a downside to the tab, as you will have to charge the dock and the tab separately, but you will surely love using the speakers on the dock as the 2w stereo speakers produce an impressively bassy, solid and composed sound.
The speakers built into the tablet aren't too shabby either, although there is less bass, they do sound loud and clear too.

The keyboard layout is good-looking and well-organised but it is not perfect for typing due to some flex in the dock and some looseness in the keys.
Also, the ZenPad is heavy at 510g, and then the dock adds an extra 415g - that's 925g in total weight _ and that is really not cool.
Both the ZenPad's and the dock's batteries are fairly strong, Asus claims that the dock could last a biblical 40 days on a single full charge if used just as a keyboard.
The amount of power left in the dock shows in te tablet's status bar alongside with the main battery's status, this is a really good feature as you wikk know when to charge the dock.
It has a microUSB v2.0 port for charging and ZenPad-Computer connection, the GLONASS GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n.
I am not pleased with the camera, the rear camera boast of a 2.0MP while the front boast of 0.3MP - but they didn't even perform up to that.

The Good

The speakers are great, the device does the basic tasks of browsing, listening to music, watching videos, reading ebooks and playing some low detailed level games without any problem.

The Bad

The screen display density Is too low for a Tab, The cameras are bad, it doesn't support cellular network and it's pretty heavy when carried with the dock.

Conclusion

Paired with the dock, the tab is great for watching movies as it could stand on a desk on its own with the help of the dock, although you don't necessarily have to use the dock's speakers.
It's great for web surfing - but not typing - although if you use the keyboard often, you will get used to it.
Even though the ZenPad 10 2300C tried, the Samsung Galaxy Tab E9.6 is another great option.

A Look At ASUS X553MA... It's Big - But Cheap

0

At £250, The ASUS X553MA is cheap for its size which is actually 15.6", I'm not impressed with the performance and the outward quality though.

Specifications:

Screen Size: 15.6-inches.
Screen Resolution: 1,366x768 pixels.
Storage: 750GB HD, 4GB RAM.
Processor: Dual-Core 2.16GHz Intel Celeron N2830.
Size: 25.3x280x252mm.
Weight: 2.2kg.
Graphics Adaptor: Intel HD Graphics.

Merely looking at it from the outside, the laptop's finishing comprised a concentric patterned texture that feels pleasant to the touch and catches the light in an attractive way.
The view you get after opening the lid is totally different from the picture you might have gotten in Mind. The amount of flex contained in the internal chassis, where the lid joins with the base (the CPU and the keyboard) is incredibly large. Using the keyboard is even more like a disaster as the plastic chassis cave inwards too much that typing becomes really difficult.
The chassis is also too flexy that the keys are incredibly springy, and this increases th travel of the keys by a few MMs in an awkward manner.

The skinny numeric keypad, which has tightly packed keys, which is also one of the features of the laptop is cramped and difficult to use. As you can see, if you are looking to touch-type at a decent speed, this keyboard will put you off as it isn't very comfortable to use.
The X553MA supports Asus' smart gesture for its touchpad, this lets you interact with windows 8.1 through one, two and three-finger gestures such as scrolling and zooming a page. This is a neat and nice addition which steps up the laptop in the aspect of software features.
The touchpad is suitably responsive and the gestures worked well, we didn't found ourselves immediately reaching for a USB mouse as we have done with some poorer touchpads.

The X553MA's screen has a 1,366x768 resolution display, which is common in budget laptops, but this is bigger than the price placed on the laptop.
In our tests, the X553MA performed poorly, test images lacked saturation and it appeared washed out and lacking in contrast, this was really a downside because it meant photos and movies will never appear at their best.
The X553MA cones with a Dual-Core 2.16GHz Intel Celeron N2830 processor. You will get by with using this laptop for web surfing, some bit of work, watching movies and playing music but nothing much else aside that.
It also comes with a 750GB Hard disk with a 5,400RPM speed which is enough for applications and media, it becomes a bit slower while installing applications and searching for files in windows explorer. The RAM is also great, it can handle all the basic operations you throw at it without feeling much - but that's if your auto-start apps are in the average levels.
The Comm options are rather disappointing, just two USB ports, just imagine, if you need to use a USB mouse, a modem and also need to get some files from a flash drive at a time, that will actually cause a dilemma.
There is also a Gigabit Ethernet Port, VGA and HDMI connections for an external display, an SDXC card Reader and a headset jack.
Except the DVD drive, there is nothing on the right hand side of the laptop, and it creates a weird feeling of "A Left-handed Laptop".
The battery lasted 4hrs Plus and that's fair enough, but what we want is "Good" or Even "Great", not "fair".

Conclusion

With its poor display, slow performance(if tasked a bit) and poorly designed base, the X553MA isn't something really great to go for, but if all you want to do with it is web browsing, document saving and you are also in love with the Large screen on a Low-priced Laptop, then you have no problem going for it.
If you want a higher value and are willing to spend more, then consider the Dell Inspiron or The or The Toshiba ..., they are great alternatives with higher price tags.

A Look At The Barnes and Noble "Nook Glowlight Plus"

0

Yes, you saw it, it's actually "Nook Glowlight Plus", which means it's an upgraded version of the Nook Glowlight(without plus).
After selling the Nook Glowlight for two straight years without an upgrade, Barnes and Noble has finally decided to give their customers something New-and-Improved, and... Here it is.

Nook Glowlight Plus is waterproof and available without ads at $130. It's also very lighter than the previous model and some other e-readers, Glowlight(6.9 ounces), Kindle Paperwhite(7.3 with ads and 7.6ounces without ads), Boyue T62+( ), Kobo Glo HD( ), except the all-powerful Kindle Voyage(6.3 ounces), along with the waterproof feature, this Glowlight Plus is a step in front of some other e-readers, even the Kobo Aura H2O which is also waterproof - although that's not much of a big deal.

Barnes and Noble says its 300 dots-per-inch E-ink display, armed with enhanced contrast and twice as many pixels as the Glowlight took it on pars with the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite screen. But closely observing both e-readers, the lighting is better on Kindle paperwhite and the contrast seemed a bit better too, i.e, the screen is whiter and the text is darker. While the Glowlight Plus has a bit hint of blue, the kindle paperwhite looks more closer to that of a printed paper, and the difference in contrast is almost unnoticeable if they aren't held side-by-side.

Need A Kindle Paperwhite??? Get It Here.

Another thing about the Glowlight plus is it's ability to read EPUB files bought from third-party retailers other than Barnes and Noble(not supported by kindles), and it can also read pdf files(this is supported by kindles). And Barnes and Noble also offers a wide variety of of Newspapers and Magazines, so you have a huge list of books to choose from.
Barnes and Nobles was also scheduled to add support for Adobe DRM EPUB files and PDFs through a software update over Wi-Fi, and that update will also improve the web log-in portal management(Wi-Fi hotspots, Public Wi-Fi, Hotels and Others), enhancements to the in-store Wi-Fi experience, as well as some bug fixes and improvements. (UPDATE: It's now all been done).

The Advantage

The Resolution is Higher, The display is also sharper but could not be compared with paperwhite, the screen is also scratch resistant, could read third-party books bought from retailers other than Barnes & Noble and it goes for just $130 without ads.

The Disadvantage

Even though it's a bit lighter than the kindle paperwhite, it's still somehow heavy, The aluminium Chassis is a bit slippery and the outside of the bezel has an edge to it(this can be solved by putting the Glowlight Plus in a Case, Check The List Of Accessories for this).

Conclusion

Well, this upgrade is something, but i can still remark that this is nothing enough to pull customers from amazon kindles. But it does send some sort of signal to its customers that are still committed to the Nook Platform, and it may help them get new customers that actually want the waterproof feature, and also, to those that are still with an older version of any of the Nook readers, we think you should check this out, it's time for an upgrade.

I will also like to mention that this is not the first ereader with the waterproof feature, if you want the waterproof feature but don't like the glowlight plus, you can check the Kobo Aura H20 - although it costs a fortune.

0

This article reviews the latest amazon kindle paperwhite which was officially released on [date goes here]. The kindle paperwhite 3rd generation is an upgrade of the amazon kindle paperwhite 2nd generation, and while it isn't much of an upgrade, it gets an HD screen, making it sharper, and this enhances the kindle paperwhite reading experience.

Did you fell in love with the last kindle paperwhite??? Wait till you see this model. While still maintaining that sleek beautiful design, built-in frontlight and starting price tag as the previous version US$139.99 for the base version and US$179.99 for the Wi-Fi version.

This model adopts the high screen-resolution E-ink display of the kindle voyage, and just like the other kindles, it also comes in two versions, the ad-free version[Wi-Fi], costs $20 more than the baseline version, which serves up special offers, otherwise known as ads or sponsored contents.

Specifications

Here is the full breakdown of the new kindle paperwhite, the full specs[both software and hardware].

Display:

Amazon 6.7" kindle paperwhite displays with carta E -ink technology and built in fronntlight, 330 ppi, optimized font technology, 16-level grey-scale and improved contrast which makes the tets darker, all this together makes the reading experience on the kindle paperwhite look like reading from a printed paper.

Size:

The amazon kindle paperwhite is 6.7" tall, 4.6" wide and 0.36" thick.

Included In The Box:

Kindle Paperwhite, USB 2.0 charging cable and quick start guide.

The Advantage

The screen is now sharper and it comes with a higher screen resolution, there is an improvement in the Software and the introduction of built-light; not as good as the kindle voyage, but this seriously does give us a somewhat view of what is coming in the next model.

The Disadvantage

Although, there is an upgrade to the screen, display and there are other upgrades as well, but it's not what we were expecting as an upgrade. The ad-free version still costs a fortune and it's kinda heavy at 7.2 ounces, compared to Barnes and Noble "Nook Glowlight Plus", which weighs just 6.2 ounces and also comes with the waterproof feature like the "Kobo Aura H2o".

What We Think

The upgrade in the kindle paperwhite screen and software increased its display, and it also reduces the flashing you get while reading from an E-ink screen[it doesn't flash until you've read 50 pages or press the home symbol] which makes it easier on the eyes and makes reading enjoyable. But even despite all this, we still want more than just screen and contrast, supporting 3rd party file formats bought from places other than Amazon and an ac adapter would make much sense.
Well, while this upgrade made this product an excellent one, i still think you should check the Amazon Kindle Voyage if you want the best E-reader of this time.
